Carolina BCM is partnering with ministries across Columbia to assist in pairing international students with believing American families for friendship and conversation this semester! It is a privilege to be able to serve the nations here in our city, and this project has garnered a significant amount of interest from the students, which we are thrilled about. However, at the moment we currently have many internationals requesting American friendship and conversation partners and simply not enough families able to come alongside them.
How can you help in this way? We are looking for Christian families that are willing to open their hearts and home to international students. These students are typically in Columbia for their Masters or Doctoral degree, and some are visiting scholars who are here with their spouses and children as well. Many have never been invited into an American home or church despite being here for months or even years. We want to see our Columbia church families coming alongside these internationals from all around the world to show them Christ’s love and compassion that has the power to surpass any and all language and cultural barriers.
If you are interested in this program or have any questions, please feel free to send an email to morganUSCbcm@gmail.com. The nations are coming to us in Columbia, so let’s take advantage of that fact as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission together.
