Dear Ministry Partners,
As you know, George Bullard, our Executive Director of the CMBA, has officially retired. I have accepted the dubious responsibility of serving as your interim director until a new person can begin serving, as prescribed in our current bylaws. Our search team has been working diligently to present us with a candidate for that position and, we are thrilled to say, has completed the task.
Our team is unanimously recommending Rev. Jamie Rogers as the next Executive Director of the Columbia Metro Baptist Association. Jamie currently serves as the Columbia Baptist Collegiate Ministry Director on the USC campus in Columbia. He also has the experience of years in pastoral ministry that makes him an ideal candidate for our position. The search team shared this recommendation with the Visionary Leadership Community, and we also recommended presenting him to the full association for approval.
To that end, we are inviting you to a special called meeting of the association to take place on Tuesday, July 19th at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Andrews Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, at 230 Bush River Road in Columbia. The meeting will have an official presentation and vote on the candidate to be followed by a reception and fellowship time. According to our current bylaws, full-membership churches may send their pastor and one or two lay members to serve as voting messengers to this meeting. Churches with more than 600 members may send a second lay leader.
We trust you will be able to join with us on this historic day in the life of the CMBA. If called, Rev. Rogers will begin serving September 1st. Thank you for your continued support of missions in the Midlands through Columbia Metro Baptists. We do so much good together for the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I trust we can look forward to even brighter days of ministry together.
Blessings in Christ,
Dr. Craig Bailey,
Moderator/Interim Executive Director
