One Priority Briefing for Congregational Leaders from George Bullard – Wednesday, January 12, 2022

A Family of Baptist Congregations in the Midlands of South Carolina

Our One Priority: Starting and Strengthening Churches to Serve as Vital and Vibrant Missional Communities.

CANCELED: King Day Worship Celebration,
Monday, January 17th

Due to COVID-19 pandemic factors, the Martin Luther King Jr. Day worship celebration for Monday, January 17th is canceled – for now. (Our understanding is that many events in the Midlands of South Carolina sponsored by other groups for January 17th have either been canceled or will be held virtually.)

We feel that face-to-face dialogue on racial reconciliation is vital for Christian ministry in our diverse context. Therefore, we have already asked Dr. Goatley about coming to Columbia in the middle of March for a Racial Reconciliation Conversation.

As soon as details are worked out, we will share these with you.

Pray for Our Family of Congregations
in the Midlands of South Carolina

  • Pray for the Executive Director Search Team as they seek the next Executive Director. Send recommendations through January 21stto chairperson – Ryan Dupree — ryandupree@fbccola.com.
  • Pray for the pastors, staff, lay leaders, congregation members, and others infected with COVID-19 and one of the variants.
  • Pray for two congregations in dialogue about merging with one another.
  • Pray for a congregation who is running out of resources to function in a community of 7,000 people who needs partner congregations, and perhaps one who will fully adopt this community.

Our One Priority Briefing and the Our One Priority Briefing Online Gathering are made possible by the financial gifts of the member and network connection congregations of the Columbia Metro Baptist Association at www.ColumbiaMetro.org, CMBA@ColumbiaMetro.org, or 803.619.7110.
