CMBA churches are invited to participate in an upcoming safety event sponsored by Spring Valley Baptist Church. Protecting Houses of Worship will be held on Saturday, September 20, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., in the church fellowship hall located at 91 Polo Road in Columbia. Registration is $10 per person and includes lunch.
Participants will learn how to create an emergency operations plan including lockdown procedures, identify risk factors and threats, and how to develop a congregational response team. Additional topics include deterrence and mitigation efforts, a seven-step safety plan, and creating a security check list.
Online registration is open through September 13 and is open to all CMBA church members.
