A Family of Baptist Congregations in the Midlands of South Carolina

Our One Priority: Starting and Strengthening Churches to Serve as Vital and Vibrant Missional Communities.

Resources Available for Our Family of Congregations In the Midlands of South Carolina

As we begin a new calendar year, we want to take time to share with you as our member churches and our church network connections the resources we offer which are available to you to assist your congregation in reaching its full Kingdom potential. These resources are made possible by the regular financial contributions of your church to CMBA and from other sources such as the SC Baptist Convention who help us engage in ministry with you.

We intend to highlight available resources throughout this year. I suspect you will be amazed to learn of all of the resources accessible to you as a member or network connection who financially contributes to CMBA. From our perspective as your leaders, this is simply the reason we exist – One Priority – Starting and Strengthening Congregations to Serve as Vital and Vibrant Missional Communities.

Information about these resources will be shared in numerous ways. First, they will be mentioned in this almost weekly briefing. Second, they will be posted to our website at www.ColumbiaMetro.org. Third, they will be posted to our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CMBAssociation. Fourth, I will talk about them in my almost weekly video – Our Wednesday Word. Fifth, periodically our One Priority Podcast will address these resources. These podcasts are posted on our website at https://columbiametro.org/podcast/.

If you have questions or desire to connect with any of these resources, send an e-mail to CMBA@ColumbiaMetro.org or give me a call at 803.622.0923. The first resource we want to share is presented below.

CMBA Resource for Our Family of Congregations

Congregational Grants for Hunger Ministries: CMBA maintains a Hunger Ministries Fund as part of our overall Congregational Grants. Typically we make grants of up to $500 once or twice per year to member and network churches involved in hunger ministries and who apply for a grant and are approved.

To apply for a grant, a pastor, a staff person, or an authorized missions layperson should contact Cathy Locklear at CathyLocklear@ColumbiaMetro.org or 803.622.0303. She will talk with you about how you will use these funds. Our preference is that your church is directly involved with the families or individuals receiving food assistance, or that you have an ongoing relationship with the community hunger ministry who is providing food assistance. Also, do not forget that we have non-perishable food items available for the ministry of your church from our hunger ministries storage at Belmont Baptist Church.
