Congregations seeking to transform are aware that a process of transformation, revisioning, renewal, revitalization, or reinventing their congregation is not a permanent solution. It is more than a short-term fix, but it is not a one-time process.
They understand they must hardwire into the culture of their congregation that they will intentionally engage in a process that spirals them forward to the next stage of their life and ministry every seven to nine years. Without a commitment to do so they will find their vision and innovation waning, and they will become stuck, declining, and perhaps even dysfunctional.
