Congregations seeking to transform are aware of the changing racial and ethnic character of their community context, and are seeking to respond to them with positive ministry. They do not delay in their response even though the extent and pattern of racial and ethnic change may not at first be recognized. It does not show up in typical demographic studies.
One key place where these demographic patterns will show up early is in elementary schools. Wise congregations who want to transition as their community context transitions will develop appropriate ministry partnerships with one or more elementary schools in their community context.
