God is always speaking. God is always speaking into the lives of each person. God is always speaking into your life, even when you think the message you are hearing is for someone else.
Be careful when the preaching or teaching you are experiencing in your congregation always seems to be meant for someone else because you believe you have your life in Christ all together. Be careful when the preaching or teaching seems to “step on your toes.” Do not blame the messenger. Simply open your heart and say the words Eli told Samuel to use – “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.”
Always thank your pastor for sharing with the congregation the message they are hearing from God. Consider how that message applies to your life and how you can respond to God. Always be open to growing in the grace and knowledge of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Your willingness to grow in faith is one of the best ways to show appreciation for the ministry service of those who minister among you.
