Hosts for this week’s episode are George Bullard, the Director of Missions, Strategic Leadership Coach and Lead Missiologist at Columbia Metro Baptist Association and Chris Reinolds, Lead Pastor a Killian Baptist Church.

Joining us this week is Ryan Dupree, international minister at First Baptist Columbia and multiethnic consultant with the South Carolina Baptist Convention.  Through Ryan’s ministry, local churches in and around Columbia, are learning how they can better connect with the international community whom God has placed around them.

Highlights

“The Church” still has some ways to go to understand that we really are a global society.

The plight of the refugee is beginning to open the eyes of the local church that there is a great need for gospel saturation in our communities.

The political climate has polluted the perception of the healthy aspects of immigration.

70% of the local businesses, in the Columbia Metro area, are owned by foreigners.

Internationals like to talk to people and share their story and culture. By simply asking questions about them, it can open the door for a deeper conversation.

Regardless of background, we all experience the same growing pains as human beings (family, marital, and child-rearing issues).
