A Family of Baptist Congregations in the Midlands of South Carolina

Our One Priority: Starting and Strengthening Churches to Serve as Vital and Vibrant Missional Communities.

Executive Director Search Committee Accepting Resumes

The Search Committee for the next Executive Director of the Columbia Metro Baptist Association (CMBA) is now accepting resumes. The request comes as the group of five representatives from member churches and two alternates has been meeting for several months following the retirement announcement of current Executive Director George Bullard, effective June 30, 2022.

The members of the search committee are Ryan Dupree (chair) of Columbia First, Jacob Helsley of Blaney, Brenda Sheets of St. Andrews, Ralphetta Davis of Concord Fellowship, and Buck Williams of Mount Elon. Alternates are Cookie Adams of Kilbourne Park and Dan Griffin of Harmony.

The committee is seeking a person for the almost 100-member Family of Churches who is prepared to “mobilize and equip our churches to start and strengthen congregations to serve as vital and vibrant missional communities using our six strategies of Empowering Congregations, Starting Congregations, Strengthening Congregations, Leading Congregations, Impacting Communities, and Enhancing Baptist Collegiate Ministries.”

The committee says applicants must have a passion for working with a diverse group of local churches, including multi-ethnic and multi-generational congregations and those found in both urban and rural communities across the Midlands of South Carolina.

Interested applicants may send resumes – with references – to Committee Chairman Ryan Dupree at RyanDupree@fbccola.com by January 21, 2022.
