Insight 284: FaithSoaring Churches Appropriately Greet People

Congregations seeking to transform have figured out the appropriate level at which to personally greet people who are guests. In smaller membership congregations this is often not a problem. Everyone knows everyone, so when there is a guest, people realize and greet them. In congregations of more than 125-135 in attendance this becomes a greater challenge.

How do you deal with the issue of face familiarity? If you are a greeter and you do not at least recognize a person as relating to the congregation–much less remember their name–what do you do that is more than a surface, obligatory greeting?
