Insight 274: FaithSoaring Churches Eliminate Entitlement [Part E]

Congregations seeking to transform are willing to eliminate anything that appears to be claiming an entitlement that is not part of the core mission of the congregation. Calendars are objects of entitlement. Individuals or groups feel that certain dates each year, or certain days of the week belong to them, and the congregation as a whole–even in fulfillment of a new spiritual and strategic direction–does not have a right to change that.

Time is the most precious commodity of the 21st century in a culture as busy as is the North American culture. Times and dates are an entitlement to address.
