Insight 236: FaithSoaring Churches Recognize Burnout Earlier

Congregations seeking to transform recognize burnout in their lay leaders sooner rather than later. If they recognize it only later, then recognition may come when lay leaders suddenly resign from all their roles in the church and leave. This is too late to retain these leaders.

What is needed is an intentional process for not overloading lay leaders, going down the difficult road of recruiting and training new leaders, and even closing programs, ministries, and activities for which there is no leadership passion, and focusing on those for which there is both spiritual passion and gifted leadership.
