At times the closed, myopic culture of congregations is so strong that they must die to self and be resurrected to Christ. This requires congregations to die before they can live again. A radical way to transform congregations–when this is their situation–is to intentionally close them and on the ashes of their death to start new congregations.
Talk about radical! It is the best solution for some congregations. The new congregation cannot be led by the old leadership, cannot worship in the old way, may need to speak a different language, and express the gospel in a new culture context.
