The High Points in Congregational Ministry

What are some of the high points in congregational ministry for your pastor and other staff ministers? Baptism of a new believer is certainly one of these. People committing their lives to vocational Christian service is another. Young families with children joining the church is always a time of joy. Even a funeral that celebrates the completion of a full and fruitful life, while terribly sad, can also be a high point of celebration.

So much of effective ministry is about new life – in Christ. When an actual new life – a baby – is presented for dedication in worship, it is typically a high point for ministers. A young child raises thoughts about the baby Jesus first being taken to the Temple.

For pastors and others in ministry it can be one of the greatest high points. A sense of pride slips into the dedication service. Allow your pastor and others who minister among you to savor these moments. Join them in celebrating the potential to empower the congregation to support this new life as one that can grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior – Jesus the Christ.
