If danger came in one form and from one direction, it would be easy to guard against. Churches have taken steps to guard against active shooters and hostile intruders because of attacks on the church. But the risk to members and visitors far exceeds this one threat. Churches are more likely to experience medical emergencies, fires, cybercrime, inclement weather, abuse allegations, facility issues, and legal challenges than an active shooter. Risk management involves equipping the saints to prepare for dangers and distractions that hinder the advancement of the Great Commission. Learn how to lessen your church’s risk and develop a plan to train your church!
This event will address active shooters and hostile intruders, medical emergencies, abuse prevention, and fire prevention with training provided by:
- The State Law Enforcement Division (SLED)
- The American Red Cross
- Darkness to Light
- The State Fire Marshall’s Office
Ministers, safety team leaders, safety team members, and church volunteers are encouraged to attend.
Cost (includes lunch and materials): $15/person for the first 5 from a church; $10/person for 6+ people from a church.
